World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has criticized U.S. President Donald Trump's recently signed executive order related to revamping the child immunization program, stating that the government was disregarding "decades of evidence" in favor of politicizing the issue. These statements come on the back of President Trump and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suggesting changes in school vaccination mandates and splitting the MMR vaccine into three separate shots in line with their outdated beliefs about the vaccine causing autism. Refuting these suggestions, Tedros stated that the MMR vaccine was completely safe and did not cause autism, and moreover, splitting the dosage or delaying it unnecessarily would put the child at risk from diseases.
